The Pope is Apparently not a Republican | Richard Rohr #OccupyChurch
“The world of finance, while necessary, no longer represents an instrument that favours our well-being or the life of mankind, instead it has become an oppressive power, that almost demands our adoration, mammon, the false divinity that truly dominates the world.”
Who said that? A socialist? A number of the Occupy Movement? An economic advisor to President Obama?

This is great. The Pope is an #OccupyChurch advocate. This, IMO, is the primary message of the Occupy movement, and the #OccupyChurch movement (particularly in saying that the world of finance calls on us to revere mammon, “the false divinity that truly dominates the world”.)
The plutocracy into which our country and much of the world has been forced, is the culprit, and it has reached such levels in our context that it has become prudent for even the selfish to take a stance against it, for it is being visited on more and more of us. The Gospel tells us, in the existence of “The Least of These”, that all of our humanity is bound up together. The politics and economics of America are now making that more apparent. It’s not a “new” message. It’s become more easily recognizable. (At least it should have))
Corporations are now equivalent to persons in the USA, and the bishops have nothing to say about this, while creating pseudo problems over the issue of contraception
