Many are hoping this is the case.  The climate and the economy, intertwined,  and both collapsing,  as the system plods on, oblivious.  The economy,  being captive to the “Market forces” which is everyone’s cover for “whatever the hell we feel ike doing right now,  screw the consequences for people outside of our narrow gaze,  or for those who will spend more of their lives inside an increasing volatile environment,  with it’s accompanying economic effects and the increasing violence as more and more people become desperate.

Why is the church so afraid of speaking about either:  the environment,  or the economy,  or especially the captivity of both to the selected powerful?  The theme is plenty prevalent in Scripture,  but our filters do the work of divorcing the Apocalyptic theme which warns and cautions and threatens us with consequences.  That’s not the “happy stuff”.  And it’s not the fun stuff.  It’s not what people like to be asked to ponder,  or to stop and change course.
