Android is an excellent platform but Google’s tendency towards “flagship” phones is detrimental to the general ecosystem, especially once the OS falls in along with RIM and Apple as a preeminent smartphone platform.

It’s Google’s world and handset makers just live in it

What a great article.  Dave Winer tweeted this from his cross country train trip (he’s posting pics along the way here)

The article shed slight on the sensitive relationship between Google (the developers/gatekeepers of Android)  and the manufacturers of the handsets.
