Anti-Muslim speaker draws a big crowd at mega-church in Madison TN

GEERT WILDERS was hosted at Cornerstone Church in Madison TN by The Tennessee Freedom Coalition. Wilders is one of the darlings  of  the anti-Islamic fervor sweeping the political and theological right.   He warns of the spread of ”Islamisation”.

I was there to get some video responses and perspectives from people there.  I found that I was not allowed into the building with any video camera,  so I made my way toward  the front of the parking lot where some people holding signs on the sidewalk were protesting  the celebration of anti-Muslim fervor inside the Cornerstone facility.

Here  is a description of a “roundtable” they had set up with the obligatory “Experts on Islam”, including a convert from Islam to Christianity,  and is therefore an “expert” of “Sharia Law”,  the key source of Islamophobia.

The Thursday evening event  will also include a roundtable discussion with Wilders, Sam Solomon, and Bill  Warner.  Solomon is CEO of Faith for  Muslims, a convert to Christianity and an expert on Islam and Sharia Law. Bill Warner  is Director of the Center for the Political Study of Islam and founder of the  Political Islam website (www.politicalislam.com)  which seeks to educate people about the truth of what is contained in the Koran  and other Islamic holy books.  Nationally  syndicated and Nashville-based talk radio host Steve Gill will emcee the  roundtable discussion.
–a note on the Facebook page  of the Tennessee Tea Party (http://www.facebook.com/notes/tennessee-tea-party/may-12-2011-tennessee-freedom-coalition-hosting-geert-wilders-at-cornerstone-chu/10150247482250269)

Radio host Steve  Gill.  Just great. More weight for the right side  of the scale that sits perpetually tipped over onto its “right” balance.  But I guess one can say that is “a balance”.  It’s just one that places all the weights on one side.

But as I saw in the protesters,  and a select few I was able to talk to after the event,  not everyone there was thrilled with Wilder’s message.

I will be working on editing that footage over the weekend,  and hope to post a few clips on my YouTube channel along the way.  I also have some more things to describe,  but wanted to clarify exactly who it was that wanted a little debate ( that happened spontaneously between a political science student who was critical of the message,  and an apparent devotee of Wilder’s message) to kindly take the discussion further away from the front door,  and then ultimately,  asked that “we” shut  it down”.
