Terry Heaton: Adventures in health insurance

to the clowns who say “the U.S. has great health care” (mostly the “tea-partier” persuasion/delusion),  here is just one in a long line of ridiculous things we have to put up with,  where the “benefits” are not for the patient,  but some other entity.

You want to know why healthcare costs are so high? Health insurance.

My wife is about to go full time for the Board of Education working at an elementary school as an Educational Assistant,  so we’ll be getting family coverage under their group plan, and I can dump the clowns from who’ve I’ve been buying my short term insurance,  who it took several weeks of trolling around my medical records to find whatever reasons they could for not covering me. They  ended up giving me a policy with a special rider denying coverage for anything related to spinal problems or prostate problems (high PSA levels,  3 negative biopsies,  urologist every 6 months….but clear….and yet no coverage nonetheless) I’ll be glad to see them kicked  out the door and outta my life!  “Great health care” my ass!
